Fender American Special Stratocaster

Post  Admin on Tue Apr 13, 2010 11:50 am

The American Special Strat is very similar to its higher class Standard Stratocaster. The playability is just as well as the American Standard. The only thing it lacks is the quality of the hardware on the guitar and the lack of color options. This guitar is a very good choice if your price range lacks the ability to pay for a standard (But if capable, the American Standard in my opinion is better). The sound of this guitar is basically the same as the Standard Strat although it has a double single coil pickup near the bridge instead of the angled single coil. This changes basically nothing and could prove an advantage for it can be replaced by a humbucker pickup of the same size such as EMG. This guitar is definitely a good buy although once again I suggest upgrading to Standard. This guitar comes in only two color options, but its about the quality not the looks! It has the choice of a Rosewood or Maple fretboard just like the Standard. It plays very similar to the Standard and is virtually the same thing minus the quality of the equipment.
